Hi Jim,

I took a female pup. Her name is Mieka (me-kah) or as I like to call her "Piranah girl"!!!!!

She is teething right now so it has been a challenge.

I am very happy with her so far. She is very smart. And very spoiled which I think you knew she would be.

 I had a trainer come to my home on Wednesday afternoon and she was very shocked at how much Mieka knows already. When she walked up to my house she was in awe at how beautiful Mieka is and she said she could tell right away that she was super intelligent by the way Mieka looked at her. This is a trainer whom has worked with many shepherds before telling me this about one of your dogs. She asked me where I purchaased her from and I told her, she said she has worked with many of your pups before and all of them have been wonderful animals. Made me feel good about the decisions I made.

She asked me to join her search and rescue team when Mieka is ready for that. It will be a ways down the road because I have a lot of trainings planned with her first.

She knew at 8 1/2 weeks of age: 

watch (eye contact) - sit - stay - come - wait - down (lay) - kennel
We are still working on the potty training and she starts her pee-wee training next week so that should help tremendously.

Along with this e-mail are Miekas recent pictures. I have taken pictures every week and will combine them into one e-mail for you if you would like so you can see how she progresses. Not sure if you would want it for your website or not. Just let me know. In these pictures she is exactly 9 weeks old. Note the date @ the bottom of the picture.

Dear Jim, 

     I would like to thank you for your amazing dedication to breeding wonderful dogs!  Since we picked up out Madeline from your kennel on Dec 3rd she has been nothing but a pleasure to have in our family!! I have never seen such an smart puppy.  At 14 weeks she knows all these commands and preforms them well; Sit, Stay, Leave it, Lay Down, Speak, and Come!  I can put a treat on her nose and she wont move until given her release command. Coming this friday we are starting her puppy socialization classes.  Again on behalf of The Venable Family i want to say thank you so much, i couldn't have asked for a better German Shepherd. 

We love our dog and so does our daughter. Maybe we will see you soon for another. Maggies 1 and just so good with everyone she meets. Happy Holidays!

Jim,

My puppy is doing great and so smart, she knows her name, how to play ball, she will sit and shake hands.

Now, when she wants a treat she comes over by me, sits and puts her paw up, like she wants to shake. She asks for her treats, that is amazing.

I love her so much, she is perfect.

She knows just about everything I say to her, my other German shepherd was smart, but not as smart as Skylar.

You have wonderful dogs. I have never seen a puppy this smart.
