Dear Sir,
Sorry for the delay in
getting these photos and this letter to you, but Baron and myself have been
extremely busy since we last spoke on the phone. My shift partner has been
away and that has left Baron and myself working our whole subdivision. These
entails being on call 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week for the past couple of
months.
Baron has been working
very well and is very well suited for police work. His even temperament makes
him a joy to work around and I'm very comfortable with letting him off line
around the other members while we are working. His strong drives make him
a very good tracker and his nose down attitude makes him very easy to read.
His strong drives carry over into the search profiles and he works with both
the narcotics and article search areas very well. Baron is trained to find
four different types of narcotics: marijuana, hashish, cocaine and heroin,
and all derivatives of these.
Baron has continued to
improve in his bite work and he needs little encouragement from myself to
get the job done. He has successfully apprehended two fleeing car thieves
in only the second week of work. Baron has showed that he has a very wide
base of training which we will continue to work upon and I'm confident that
we will get nothing but stronger as we continue to work and train
together.
Good luck with your continued
breeding program and I truly hope you and your family have a very happy holiday
season.
Yours true,
Cst. Keith J. Durance
