2 September 1998
Dear Mr.
Clark:
Thank you for your follow-up
interest in "TAZ". I am sorry for not writing sooner, but getting back to
work and summer holidays left me with little time.
Following receival of
"TAZ" in the fall of 1996, he was placed in our Puppy Rearing Program and
raised with an R.C.M.P. member in High River, Alberta, located 25 miles south
of Clagary. In the fall of 1997, I decided to replace my old police service
dog and selected "TAZ" as his replacement. I began pre-training "TAZ" in
late September and over the winter when weather permitted. Pre-training consisted
mostly of tracking and aggression. At the onset "TAZ" displayed excellent
potential in the most important profiles: tracking, aggression and retrieve
drive.
We began official training
on March 24, 1998 and completed training June 26, 1998. "TAZ" was successfully
trained in the following profiles: tracking, evidence searching, narcotic
searching, criminal apprehension, agility, obedience and retrieving. "TAZ"
was a pleasure to train, his only weakness was persons search in buildings.
I believe this shortcoming will be soon be overcome with more job experience
and maturity.
I understand our force
has bought other dogs from you. I hope they are all as successful as "TAZ".
Thank you for your interest.
Yours
truly,
W.J. (Bill) Hamilton,
Cpl.
